ABSTRACT
Picture Quality from the Eyes of a Mainstream TV Streamer
The world of TV is at an inflection point. Streaming surpassed cable viewership all the way back in 2022 and is poised to surpass the sum of cable and broadcast viewership within the next year. While undoubtedly beneficial for consumers, a reliance on streamed content also presents new challenges and opportunities for manufacturers seeking to deliver the best possible front of screen experience, for the lowest cost, to the most people. In this talk, Paul Nangeroni - Senior Director of Product Management at Roku - will delve deeper in the macro trends driving this shift, the technical challenges it presents for the display industry, and the different ways Roku and others are applying software and hardware to overcome them.
