SID Business Conference Keynotes to Address Automotive Display Market and Future of OLED Manufacturing
Seoul, Beijing, Buenos Aires, Hong Kong, London, New Delhi, San Diego, Taipei, Tokyo -
The 2025 SID Business Conference, powered by Counterpoint Research and sponsored by Applied Materials, Edison Innovations, InZiv, OTI Lumionics, Pixel-Flo, Smartkem, Tianma, Universal Display Corporation and VueReal. will feature over 20 presentations from some of the leading minds in the display industry. Taking place at the San Jose Convention Center on May 13 and 14, the event will feature three keynotes with unique insights:
- Dr. Indrajit Lahiri, Corporate VP and General Manager, OLED Patterning Business Unit, Applied Materials
- Ross Young, Counterpoint Research VP and former Founder and CEO of DisplaySearch and DSCC
- Dr. Eric Cheng, CEO, Tianma America
Lahiri’s keynote will cover Applied Materials’ MAX OLED solution for next-generation OLED manufacturing, which does not require scaling up fine metal mask technology used in OLED production. Instead, MAX OLED uses lithography to pattern OLEDs, which can make them brighter, clearer, more energy efficient and longer lasting. This technology may spark a capex race in OLED manufacturing as MAX OLED has the potential to deliver significantly better-performing displays in multiple applications from a single fab at lower costs, resulting in higher utilization and higher margins for OLED manufacturers.
Young’s keynote will discuss the status and outlook for the overall display market as well as key trends in the most important applications. He will also address some of the challenges for the display industry, including how the Trump tariffs will impact display manufacturing, how supply chains are likely to evolve and regional demand trends. Young will also discuss catalysts and opportunities in the display industry. It may be noted here that the conference agenda now includes a ‘Tariff and Trade Panel’, which will delve deeper into the tariff issue.
Cheng’s keynote will include Tianma’s insights into the growth of the automotive display market as well as the company’s pivotal role in the automotive display supply chain. The talk will examine why Tianma has been successful and also cover technologies poised to outperform others – a-Si and LTPS TFT LCDs, QD LCDs, MiniLED LCDs, AMOLEDs and MicroLEDs. Cheng’s talk will also cover Tianma’s latest innovations including dual-screen privacy displays, curved and free-form displays, hidden displays, tandem displays, 3D HUDs, panoramic HUD systems and much more.
The SID Business Conference will take place on May 13 and May 14 at the San Jose Convention Center. For registration and other information, please visit: https://www.displaysupplychain...
