OLED Panel Revenues Increased 28% YoY in Q3 2024; Expected to Increase 16% in 2024 on Growth from Smartphones, TVs, IT Applications

  • Q3’24 OLED revenues rose 28% YoY on 34% YoY unit growth.
  • 2024 OLED revenues are expected to increase 16% YoY on 28% unit growth helped by a richer mix.
  • In 2024, Counterpoint expects 28% YoY unit and 16% YoY revenue growth, fueled by smartphones, TVs and IT applications (monitors, notebook PCs and tablets).

As revealed in Counterpoint’s latest release of the OLED Shipment Report, OLED panel revenues increased 28% YoY in Q3’24. This improvement in panel revenues was driven by the 34% YoY unit increase due to improved consumer and commercial demand, offset by seasonality for some applications. Several other applications also saw YoY increases. You can refer to the report for more details. "2024 continues to be a stellar year for OLED units and revenues after a strong recovery in the second half of 2023 and Y/Y unit growth in the first half of 2024 and in the third quarter. We expect 2024 to finish strong with double-digit YoY unit and revenue growth,” notes David Naranjo, Associate Director.

In Q3’24, by select OLED applications:

  • OLED smartphone units increased 43% YoY and 24% YoY in revenues on 49% YoY increase for rigid OLED smartphones and 47% YoY unit increase for flexible OLED smartphones.
  • OLED TVs increased 48% YoY in units and 36% YoY in revenues.
  • OLED monitors increased 146% YoY in units and 85% YoY in revenues. OLED notebook PCs increased 108% in units and 107% YoY in revenues.
