DSCC Adds More Talent in Japan and China

Austin, TX -

Display Supply Chain Consultants (DSCC) is pleased to announce the hiring of two additional members in Japan and China. After 35% growth in 2020 where the company experienced strong demand for its multi-client reports, the company has brought on more expertise to meet its growing customer base.

Mitsuhiro (Mickey) Kato has joined DSCC as Director of Japan Sales, Marketing and Events. Mickey has deep experience in the display industry having started in display equipment sales at Tokyo Electron (TEL) in 1992 and later went on to work at multiple display market research firms where he enjoyed significant success.

According to DSCC CEO Ross Young, “ I am thrilled that Mickey has joined our team. He played a critical role in DisplaySearch’s success in Japan and I am confident he will enable DSCC to enjoy similar success. His passion for the display industry, extensive sales, marketing and event experience and tremendous reputation with clients will no doubt satisfy our customers in Japan. I am excited to work with Mickey again.”

At TEL, Mickey helped make their plasma dry etch tool #1 in the world through sales to most of the Japanese display manufacturers. He then took over display equipment marketing where he got to know DSCC co-founders Yoshio Tamura and Sam Matsuno.

At DisplaySearch, he had responsibility for sales, website development, e-mail magazines, public relations, trade shows and conferences. He was promoted to Vice President during his time at DisplaySearch/The NPD Group.

After IHS Markit acquired DisplaySearch from The NPD Group, he continued to expand their event business in Japan growing it to #1 in Japan from 2012-2020. He also ran the company’s marketing operation which enjoyed significant success.

For 4 years, Chase was employed in China’s OLED industry working on printed OLEDs as an Engineering Project Manager at TCL Corporate Research and later worked at their RGB IJP OLED JV – Juhua Printing Display Technology as a Senior R&D Engineer. He then discovered that he had a passion for market research and joined IHS-Markit as a Senior Research Analyst and was with them at Informa/Omdia as well. At IHS and Omdia, he carried out a lot of innovative work on display company financials including adding clarity and transparency to how China’s fabs are subsidized and financed.
